I believe no trip is complete without a stop at the local contemporary art museum. My favorite kind of marathon is one where you try to catch the entire cultural programming in Paris in the short span of three days. I believe textiles can convey ideas just as powerfully as paintings, and that a studio visit often reveals more than a press release ever could. I believe art writing should be conversational, committed to its interlocutors, and alive. That’s what I try to bring to art threads.
Essays, artist spotlights, exhibition roundups across different cities (or continents), occasional reports from film festivals… and my monthly Studio Hangouts, a series of informal conversations with friends and colleagues in the art world that open a window into their work and the everyday lives behind the art. This space is where scholarship meets curiosity and where art writing wants to meet you.
